Dr. Diane F. Merritt is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University Medical School and Director of the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.  She is a founding member of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and serves on the Board of Directors.  She is a member of the Reproductive Health Drugs Advisory Committee, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Committee on Adolescent Health Care (ACOG).  Dr. Merritt has been involved in women’s health for the last three decades. She is the principal investigator in clinical research protocols involving contraception, menorrhagia, pelvic pain, and hormone therapy in menopause. Over the last 20 years, Dr. Merritt has pioneered the Program in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Washington University Medical Center and St. Louis Childrens’ Hospital.  The Program is now an established international referral center and training site.  Dr. Merritt is an internationally recognized expert in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and women’s health.  She is known for her clinical work in the diagnosis and treatment of female genital injuries, the diagnosis and repair of congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract which present in infancy or at puberty, and the management of hormonal disorders of puberty, perimenopause and menopause.  She is the recipient of many teaching and clinical awards. For the last 6 years she has been one of America’s Top Doctor’s (Castle Connolly Guide).
