Dr. Stamilio joined the OB/GYN faculty at Washington University in St. Louis on October 1, 2006. Prior to this, he was on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania in the departments of OB/GYN and epidemiology. Dr. Stamilio has a keen interest in perinatal clinical research, including general obstetrical issues (e.g. vaginal birth after cesarean), prenatal complications (e.g. preeclampsia & gestational diabetes) and the prediction and prevention of preterm birth. He has been a co-investigator and principal investigator on clinical research grants funded by the NIH, USAF Office of the Surgeon General and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. He has over 35 peer-reviewed publications related to clinical research in obstetrics. He serves as an editorial consultant for several obstetric, general medical and epidemiologic journals and is on the editorial board for Postgraduate Obstetrics & Gynecology. His clinical interests include non-invasive and minimally invasive prenatal diagnosis, prenatal management of maternal chronic disease and preventive treatment for premature delivery.
